Cookie Policy

How cookies and similar technologies work on Giov’s own website and dashboard, how Cloudflare Zaraz records your choice, and how that differs from the widget or mobile SDK you put on your properties.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on Giov’s own properties (giovchat.app and the operator dashboard). It does not automatically cover your website or app. If you embed the Giov widget or ship the mobile SDK, you are responsible for telling your End Users about storage those components set on your domain or device.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We also use local storage, session storage, pixels, and similar technologies. Some cookies last only for a browsing session; others persist until they expire or you delete them. General background: https://www.allaboutcookies.org and https://www.youronlinechoices.eu.

3. Cloudflare Zaraz consent

Why Zaraz

We use Cloudflare Zaraz as our consent management platform and tag manager on Giov’s site. Zaraz is part of the same Cloudflare account that serves the site. When Consent Management is enabled, first-time visitors see a modal to accept, reject, or choose purposes. Non-essential Zaraz tools do not run until the matching purpose is granted.

Zaraz stores your choice (typically in a cookie such as cf_consent) so the modal does not reappear every page load. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer, which reopens the Zaraz modal.

Cloudflare’s own privacy information is at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/. Zaraz consent documentation is at https://developers.cloudflare.com/zaraz/consent-management/.

Purposes you will see

In the Cloudflare dashboard we map tools to purposes. The modal typically includes:

  • Necessary / functional: required for Giov to work — sign-in, security, CSRF protection, load balancing, and remembering this consent choice. These do not require consent in most places.
  • Preferences: remember choices such as theme, or optional product demos that are not required to read the site.
  • Statistics: help us understand which pages are used, only after you opt in.
  • Marketing: extra tracking or advertising, only after you opt in. We do not currently run ads on Giov; this purpose stays available if a tagged tool is added later.

4. Necessary technologies in more detail

Without necessary storage you cannot stay signed in or complete checkout. Typical examples:

  • Session cookie: keeps an operator signed in to the dashboard.
  • CSRF and anti-abuse tokens: stop forged requests.
  • Zaraz consent cookie: stores your purpose choices.
  • Checkout: when you pay, the payment reseller may set cookies required to complete the transaction securely. Those cookies are described in that reseller’s privacy notice at https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy.

5. The visitor widget and mobile SDK

The widget may store a visitor identifier so a returning person keeps the same conversation, plus UI state such as whether the panel is open. The mobile SDK may store similar identifiers on the device. That storage is set on your site or app, under your name.

Configure the widget only on domains you control. Reflect it in your own privacy and cookie notices, and collect consent on your site where ePrivacy, GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws require it. Giov’s Zaraz banner on giovchat.app does not travel with the widget.

6. Messaging channels

WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, and email use those providers’ own cookies and apps when End Users talk to you there. Their policies apply. Giov stores the messages that are delivered into your workspace.

7. How to change or delete cookies

Use Cookie settings in the Giov footer to reopen Zaraz. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking necessary cookies will prevent sign-in.
